Subject New TREX Layout for CUBS Confirmation Messages
Effective Date 09/19/00
Notice Number CM# 0023

To address the bookkeeping and trade entry needs of our member firms that will utilize the FIX API to route orders to CUBS broker workstations on our trading floor, we have revised our standard TREX confirmation message format to accommodate CUBS transactions. As a result, we have made some minor additions to the layout in order to identify those transactions that have been routed to and filled on CUBS workstations. The format of the TREX record layout has not changed. In fact, the various blocks will work almost the same as for TOPS TREX confirm messages. In most cases, we simply indicate CUBS instead of TOPS. A copy of the revised layout with the description document has been included in this notice.

Testing The CME anticipates being ready to provide these confirmations for those firms that have successfully completed their certification for the FIX API to CUBS by early to mid October. Member firms will need to conduct testing with Systems Liaison prior to routing clearing trade records created from CUBS confirms. Testing will consist of the CME routing sample confirm CUBS messages to a firms MQM queue. The firm will then process the confirmation messages to create a clearing trade record to route to the CMEs MQM Test queue (i.e. XX05). We will send information updates in regard to testing within the next 2 weeks. In the interim, please review the layout thoroughly and prepare to support FIX API order routing.
